Get ready for all the summer vibes with Carlotta, an amigurumi Ice Cream Cone! This adorable hook holder looks just like an ice cream cone, with a swirly ice cream top and a waffle-texture cone base. Top it with a cherry or a smart bow tie to complete the look. The hook holder can double up as a cute desk organiser, storing pens, pencils and other notions in the swirl - cheer up an office desk with a cute amigurumi friend! 
 
The top of the ice cream is a long triangular tube of crochet, rolled up and secured into the swirling shape. Make the swirl in one colour, a colour-changing yarn or mix up any shades you like! The swirl is sewn into the waffle cone all around the rim. The cone is unstuffed to leave room for the hooks and notions, however I do recommend lining it with some foam fabric stabiliser, cardboard or thick felt to keep the sides more rigid. 
 
The instructions are written in US crochet terms. There are step-by-step photos detailing how to make the pieces and finish the toy. When made with DK weight yarn (Sample 1 is made in Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK) and 3.5mm hook the finished cone will measure about 15cm/5.9 in tall. 
 
The pattern can be made in a variety of yarn combinations to get a bigger or smaller hook holder.
