This little fish is inspired by vintage purses, fairy tales and the colours of autumn – may it bring a little Goldfish luck to us all!

This pattern has written instructions for all parts, with added charts to help along the way. There are also step by step photos detailing how to begin crochet using a “magic ring”, and diagrams on how to assemble and finish the object. You will mostly need standard stitches – this is an intermediate crochet that takes about 6 hours to do.

The finished Goldfish is approximately 3 and a half inches long (9 cm), when made with a 2.5mm and 2.75mm hooks in DK weight wool. The sample is made in DMC Petra No 3.

The size of the purse will change depending on the frame and yarn used. It’s roughly 11cm/4in wide, 18cm/7in long when made in DK crochet yarn with an 8.5cm half round kiss-lock purse frame. I bought the purse frame used in the pattern from this Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/3Dpatternpaper
